Let’s say a 1%(m/v) NaCl solution is “salty” (2.5g NaCl in 250 mL water). Would the water in the pond taste “salty”?

Yes. The pond water is 2.5 g / 250 ml = 0.01 g/ml which is 1 g/100 ml which is the same as 1% (m/v) NaCl.

Just convert the pond water 2.5 g in 250 ml to a mass/volume %. If done correctly, you will see that 2.5 g in 150 ml is the same as 1% mass/volume (1 g in 100 ml).
