If p and q vary inversely then their product is constant so to start p x q =12 so
when p= 3 3q must = 12
Therefore q is 4

If p varies inversely as q, and p=2 when q=6, find p when q=3.
first equation will be p= n/q
next: input p=2, q=6
2=n/6
Multiply both sides by 6
n=6*2= 12
recall first equation p=n/q
input q=3, n=12
p=12/3
p=4

If p varies inversely as q, and p=2 when q=6, find p when q=3.
As p varies inversely to q
p= K/q
given p=2 when q=6
So
p=K/q gives
2= K/6
Cross multiplying
gives K =12
So
p= 12/q
Now for q=3
p= 12/3 , gives p=4
