Please help! Statistics Question...

Let Y1, Y2 ... Yn denote a random sample from a population mean µ and variance σ². Consider the following three unbiased estimators for µ:

µ-hat1 = 1/2 (Y1 + Y2), µ-hat2 = 1/4Y1 + (Y2 +Y3...Yn-1)/2(n-2) +1/4Yn, µ-hat3 = Y-bar

  1. What are the variances of the three estimators?
  2. Which of the estimators are highly recommended, and why?
