What molecule determines which traits an organism has?

I cant seem to answer it

Simple answer is DNA but complex answer is its complicated. It is not enough to just have the code it needs to be expressed properly, and thus we enter the region of epigenetic mechanism. You can have two twins who basically have same DNA but have very different characteristics or traits.
