An ionic binary compound contains a metal cation and a nonmetal anion. This is true because to be a compound, it would contain more than one element and to be ionic, it would generally be a metal combined with a non metal. It is binary because it is made up to TWO elements.
Molecular compounds are composed of nonmetal atoms. This is also true. Another term for molecular compounds is covalent or dative compounds. They are composed of non metals that share their electrons.
