I need help with this trig word problem. “Two ships leave a port at the same time. The first ship sails on a bearing of 32 degrees at 26 knots. And the second on a bearing is 122 degrees at 14 knots. How far apart are they after 1.5 hours? Ignore the curvature of the earth.”

C is 122° - 32° = 90°

We don't have to use the cosine law, we can just use the Pythagorean Theorem.

a = 26 * 1.5 = 39

b = 14 * 1.5 = 21

c = sqrt(39^2 + 21^2) = sqrt(1521 + 441) = sqrt(1962) = 44.2944691807002
