Miscible means one liquid mixes with another and only a single phase results. It's similar to soluble, but when dealing with 2 liquids, instead of a solid in a liquid. An example would be water and ethyl alcohol are miscible because the mix and the resulting solution is a single phase.
In contrast, oil and water are NOT miscible because the mixture that results forms 2 phases.
