I cannot give you an answer, but I can give you some things to think about.

cos is an even function, i.e. cos(-x)=cos x.

y = - arccos sqrt(x² + 1) means

cos(-y) = sqrt(x² + 1) = cos y

sin² y = 1 - cos²y = 1 - x² - 1 = - x²

For REAL x, x² ≥ 0.

I'm stuck here...unless you are talking about complex functions!
