83 + (9x-10) = 127
Your goal is to isolate the variable x-you do this in steps by using inverse operations (opposite operation)
Step 1-Use inverse operations and subtract 83 from both sides.
You get 9x-10=44
Step 2-Use inverse operations again and add 10 to both sides
You get 9x=54
Lastly, use inverse operations and divide both sides by 9
You get x=6

83+(9x-10)=127 (subtract 83)
(9x-10)=44 (add 10)
9x=54 (divide by 9)
x=6
