The rectangular prism has a volume of 315 m3.
To find the answer you multiple length x width x height (v = l x w x h). So 14 x 5 x 4.5. 14 x 5 = 70. 70 x 4.5 = 315. Don't forget your units. When you are measuring volume, your unit is always to the third power, or cubed. So your answer is 315 m3 (315 cubic meters).
The square pyramid has a volume of 128 ft3.
Finding the volume of a square pyramid is a bit trickier. The formula is v = a2 (h/3) where a is the base edge and h is the height. So in this problem, the base edge of the square pyramid is 8 feet and the height is 6 feet. You must plug in these numbers for the corresponding variables and solve. So our equation will be 8(squared) x 6/3. 8 squared is 8 two times (8 x 8) = 64. 6 divided by 3 is 2. So now we have 64 x 2 = 128. Again, don't forget your units. The problem for the square pyramid states that the units are ft3 so the final answer is 128 ft3 (cubic feet).
