Are of a triangle with the base of 50 cm and the height of 4 meters

I have the right answer for the problem and i worked it like i did all the others and i got the others right i just didnt understand how to work this one

Area of Triangle with base 50, and height of 400: 

 

It is half the area of a rectangle with length 400 and width 50.

 

It is half the area of a rectangle with length 50 and width 400.

 

It is half the area of a parallelogram with length 50 and height 400:

Put the pc.to the left on the right and you have a rectangle with the same area.

(I am experimenting with my answer - let's see how the alignment shows up.)

Area of a triangle is 1/2base * height. The base here is 50cm which you have to convert to meters. This becomes 0.5m. Height is 4m.  

Thus, area is 0.5 x 0.5m x 4m = 1m (squared).
