Since you are comparing two groups based on averages, you can use a t-test. And since you don't know which gender owns more, you want to figure out whether there is any difference (regardless of the direction). In this situation, you should use a two-tailed t-test. During this test, you'll calculate a t-statistic that you can use to determine the p-value.
Were you asked to calculate these values? You would need either the original data or some additional information about the data (standard deviation and sample size for both groups), then you can perform the calculations. There are also online calculators that can do t-tests for you.
