Discrete data can only take on certain values where continuous can take on any value, including fractions and decimals. Since number of home runs would only be whole numbers and not any part of a whole number, I would say the data is discrete.
Cross sectional data is data taken in a point in time. Time series is where the observations are time dependent. Since this data is taken over a month, this data would be time series.
