To give some further edification, let's assume X is a continuous variable, and examine the 4 choices:

A.This gives the probability that X is greater than 5, and less than or equal to 8.

B.This gives the probability that X is greater than 4, and less than or equal to 8.

C.This gives the probability that X is greater than 5, and less than or equal to 7.

D.This gives the probability that X is greater than 4, and less than or equal to 7.
