There might be a interesting puzzle to solve when the problem is formulated a little different.

But in the present form:

1) Initially the liquid is in 5+3

2) Pour 3 into a 4 - there will be 1 left

3) Fill it out completely from 5 (it will now be =4). 1 is out - 4 left

4) There is 4 left inside 5 - so put it in another 4-container
