2/8 of the marbles in a box are blue. There are 24 more red marbles than blue marbles in the box. The remaining 32 marbles are yellow. How many red marbles are in the box?

2/8=1/4(B+Y+R)=B R=B+24

Y=32

(1/4)B + 1/4(32) + 1/4(B+24) = B

-B+(1/4)B + (1/4)B =-(1/4)24 -(1/4)(32)

-B/2= -6-8=--14

B=28

R=28+24 = 52

(B,R,Y) = (28,52,32) Red marbles = 28

total marbles=112 B=1/4(112) = 28

R=28+24 = 52
