statistic: Inter group versus Intra group

Hi ,

I have this table

Inter 2 df ss 29.55 mean 14.78 test F 12.11

I would like to know if there is a way to know when only having the SS how can I find the mean and 2. when I have the mean how can I find the SS.

The MEAN SQUARE (in other words, the average squared distance of observations from the group mean) is equal to the sum of squares divided by the degrees of freedom. Algebraically, MS = SS/df. For the data you give, 14.78 = 29.55 / 2. You cannot determine the sample mean from the information provided.
