I'm assuming that you have a right triangle.
use the Pythagorean Theorem
c^2=a^2+b^2 where c=hypotenuse, a=one leg, b=second leg
c^2=4^2+3^2
c^2=16+9
c^2=25
√c^2=√25
c=5
