So, it would make sense that you would simply add 3 to both sides and get 2(35 + 48) = 2(83) = 166 feet, buuuuut if you drew a picture, you'd realize that it's 3 feet to the right, left, top and bottom, so each side is actually increased by 6 feet.

2(38 + 51) = 2(89) = 178 feet
