Hi Meagan,

You can answer this 2 ways, but what I will show you seems to make sense to most students.

First, plug 2 into the f(x) function. f(2) = 3(2)²-2(2), so f(2) = 3(4)-2(2) and f(2) = 8

Now add f(x) + 8. From your original f(x)=3x²-2x you just add 8 to it.

Answer: f(x) + f(2) = 3x² -2x +8
