Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ASVAB

As a retired Marine, I can guide you through the ASVAB math portions. I have taken the ASVAB numerous times and would love to assist you in finding and fixing your skill gaps.

Bible Studies

I have a graduate degree in Theology and have been studying the Bible for over 30 years. I love studying the Bible and have been conducting Bible studies at church, retirement homes, jails and prisons for over 15 years.

Business

I hold a B.S. in Electronics Management and an Ed.D in Leadership and Management. My focus is on helping students in Management or Organizational Leadership (OL) classes. I have taught business management and project management classes at the post-secondary level for over 10 years. My business experience includes 21 years active duty military service, 5 1/2 years as a Department Chair for a college, 6 years on the Board of Directors for a not-for-profit company and a small business owner for the past 12 years (two different successful businesses).

Differential Equations

Differential Equations are a part of the calculus series of equations that describe rates of changes between variables. They are equations that contains either ordinary or partial derivatives. I have been teaching/tutoring DE for over 7 years and love helping students achieve their "aha" moments in calculus.

Discrete Math

Discrete mathematics is a blend of many different elements of logic, combinatorics and graph theory. I hold a Master's in Math Education and have coached many students through various Discrete math courses. Let me help you reduce your math anxiety.

Electrical Engineering

I was the primary instructor in the Electronics department at a technical college and have over 20 years experience in electronics. As the former department chair and instructor, I have taught nearly all electronics classes in my department and I tutor students weekly (mainly in mathematics).

Finite Math

I have a Master's in Mathematics Education and love finding and fixing student's skill gaps at any level of math! Finite math is a non-standard collection of different math subjects. It could include: Modeling, matrix algebra, linear programming, logic, combinatorics, probability, and statistics.

Linear Algebra

Linear Algebra is widely used in electrical and mechanical engineering. Whether you are dealing with elementary linear algebra, simple analysis or complex analysis, you need a math coach that can help you identify your skill gaps in order to excel in one of these classes. I have a Master's in Math Education and have over 7 years experience teaching (and using) linear algebra.

Logic

Understanding computer and engineering logic is no problem when you have a math coach that can help you identify your skill gaps and help you excel in any area. Whether it be truth tables, Boolean algebra, or logic gates that are causing anxiety, let a professional coach help you.

Public Speaking

I am an active member of a local Toastmaster's group. I have completed my Competent Communicator award along with my Competent Leader award. I was trained as a public speaker through Learning International and received my PSSIII certificate with 40 hours of practice.

Statistics

I've taught Statistics at Lightworks Institute and ITT Technical Institute in Everett. I have also been coaching Statistics for over 12 years and have a unique ability to blend knowledge and humor into my teaching style. Descriptive and Inferential statistics can be understood by most students, with the right teacher and the right motivation. Are you motivated to learn?

The best math tutor!

Steve is unbelievable! My son was struggling with Calculus and in two or three session he brought his confidence up and his grade to a B! Steve asks great questions to make my son think, he builds my son's confidence AND Steve builds rapport and humor into the sessions. My son is very picky about tutors, and frankly did not learn a whole lot from others, and really did not want to do this. He now
