Look at the balanced equation:
Na2SO4(aq) + Ba(NO3)2(aq) ==> BaSO4(s) + 2NaNO3(aq) --- double replacement
Convert g Na2SO4 to moles of Na2SO4.
Determine moles BaSO4 made from that many moles of Na2SO4
Convert moles BaSO4 to grams of BaSO4.
4.98 g Na2SO4 x 1 mole/142 g = 0.03507 moles
moles BaSO4 made = 0.03057 mol Na2SO4 x 1 mol BaSO4/1mol Na2SO4 = 0.03507 mol BaSO4
grams BaSO4 = 0.03507 mol BaSO4 x 233 g/mol = 8.17 g BaSO4 (to 3 significant figures)
