-4 to 12 is 16, (3/10)(16) = 4.8, -4 + 4.8 = 0.8
-7 to -4 is 3, (3/10)(3) = 0.9, -7 + 0.9 = -6.1
(0.8, -6.1)

Be careful that this question is written by giving B before A!
Let (Xf, Yf) be point with the final coordinates 3/10 of the way from A to B.
Let A be the point (-4,-7) and B be the point (12,4) in the x-y plane.
Find (Xf, Yf)....
You would add to each coordinate of A 3/10 of its directed distance to B:
Yf = (3/10)(yB - yA) + yA
Xf = (3/10)(xB - xA) + xA
Yf = (3/10)(4 - (- 7)) + -7
Xf = (3/10)(12 - (-4)) + -4
(Xf, Yf) = (24/5 - 4, 33/10 - 7)

-7 to 4 is 11; (3/10)11 is 3.3; -7+3.3 = -3.7; Point is (0.8,-3.7)12/21/19
