Think of the Law of Syllogism as like unto the Transitive Property. If A=B and B=C, then A=C. Thus the conclusion of this "If you do not study, you will not get good grades. If you do not get good grades, you will not get into a good college" would be that if one does not study, they will not get into a good college.
