Since 3/4 is larger than 1/2, you will not have a full 3/4 cup portion (only a part of a portion). To determine how much of the 3/4 portion will "fit" inside 1/2 cup , divide 1/2 by 3/4:
(Multiply 1/2 by the reciprocal of 3/4)
1/2 divided by 3/4 = 1/2 * 4/3 = 2/3
Therefore 2/3 of a 3/4 sized portion will fit in a 1/2 cup container.
