The midpoint of a segment is right in the middle of the segment. Another way of thinking of the "middle" of something of math is by finding the average of it. So to find the midpoint, we are going to find the average of our x and y values. Remember to find the average, we add up the numbers and divide by the number of numbers we added together (what a tongue twister!!) Here is how to find the average of the given x and y-values:
x - values: (3+1) / 2 = 4 /2 = 2
y - values: (7+-5) / 2 = 2 / 2 =1
So our midpoint is found at the point (2,1). I hope this explanation was thorough and answered all your questions! If you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out! :)
