So, if p = 1/3, it is 1/4 of the way from A to B

C = 25 + (1/4)(9) = 27.25

If p = 8, I assume you mean an 8:1 ratio. So,

C is 8/9 of the way from A to B.

C = 25 + 8 = 33

I have no idea what a negative ratio is geometrically, unless you mean C is 5 times as far to the left of A as it is from B. But that is impossible, since A would be closer than B.
