Can touch base and Inform on various subjects and areas.
The five most common ethical dilemmas that are an issue in the workplace is as followed.
- Unethical Leadership: The behavior of a companies management, and top performers play huge parts in how a companies employees behaviors are towards the company, and its clients/consumers. The perfect example here is to lead by example. Management should reflect positively and promote the company to perform at it best. This is also in respect to how they treat their own, and the client/consumer data base as well.
- Toxic Workplace Culture: This one relates a lot from the above with what I have just said about leadership and their roles. They are and can be the ones responsible for a toxic workplace culture. Leaders must show - Respect, Integrity, Authenticity, Appreciation, Empathy and Trust. Those are the attributes that should be shown to the companies employees.
- Discrimination and Harassment: This happens in many workplaces, and is made unavoidable in almost every employee orientation, and training on the beginning of the employment process. Many people pay no attention to what is said, and sometimes believe they do no wrong by the things they have done or said due to the life, or environments some individuals are accustomed to. Every alleged violation, complaint, or inquiry in these types of matters should be addressed, investigated, and taken care of immediately. I also believe employees should be reminded regularly about these types of issues in company meetings.
- Unrealistic and Conflicting Goals: This happens when realistic, and high expectations are set on performance. Employees and management need to evaluate and brainstorm situations, events, or possibilities which may arise and make your goal impossible to achieve.
- Questionable Use of Company Technology: Employees can take company equipment for granted and for personal use. This is when there should be some kind of monitoring system is in place, and performance criteria that should be met to indicate whether employees are misusing their time. Then appropriate action should be taken if employees have been committing this type of theft against the company.
