So, let's say you have a point like (5,7). If you reflected this over the x-axis (y = 0), your y-value would be opposite, or (5,-7). Both are 7 away from the x-axis, right?
What about y = -2? The same point is 7 - (-2) = 9 away from y = -2.
-2 - 9 = -11, so your reflected point is (5,-11).
