Translating a shape is like moving a table. If you move a table 3 feet to the left, do all of the legs move 3 feet to the left? Or do some of the legs move 3 feet to the left and some move 2 feet to the right? Shapes work like tables. You can use one point (table leg) to figure out how far all of the points (table legs) traveled. Use the points you know. Call them Point 1 and Point 2. Use the distance formula and calculate how far the shape moved. The x's and y's are in your points. You're finding d.

Apparently, I was supposed to solve it for you. d=sqrt((-2-1)^2 + (1-5)^2) = sqrt(9+16) = sqrt(25) = 5
