Here's a picture for the problem:
The area of a circle is πr2 but, of course, this just happens to be a portion of a circle. How much of a portion? Well, a whole circle is 360° but this is just 150° so this is 150/360 of a circle or 5/12 of a circle. So the amount of area will be 5/12πr2 or 5/12π(60)2 which is 1500π square miles. If you'd like to turn that into an approximate answer, you can multiply 1500 by 3.14159 to get approx 4712.4 square miles
