The area enclosed by a fence can be found by multiplying the width by the length...

The owner of a petting zoo wants to make 3 identical sections for ducks, goats, and rabbits. They want to create a total area of 300 squared feet where the length of the fence is three times as long as the width. How long should the width and length be? Can you think of a way that this problem could be solved by factoring? Hint, use the formula A =LW plugging in 300 for A and 3W for L.
