The best way to create a line that crosses two points is using point slope form:
y - y1 = m ( x - x1) where x1 and y1 are the x and y-values of one of the points given and m is the slope.
First, we need to find the slope of the two points. To do this we will use the formula for slope:
y2-y1
x2-x1
Let's say (-7,1) is our x2,y2 and (7,0) is our x1,x1. Now we just plug the numbers into the formula and simplify:
1-0 = 1
-7-7 -14
So our slope is -1/14. We can plug this into our point slope equation:
y - y1 = -1/14(x - x1)
Now just pick one of the points given and plug it in for x1 and y1 (I'll use the first point):
y - 0 = -1/14 (x - 7)
y = -1/14(x - 7)
And that's our line! If you have any questions please don't hesitate to comment and I will try to respond in a timely fashion :)
