Simplifying Mole Ratios

I was balancing and finding the mole ratio for octane to carbon dioxide in a combustion reaction of octane and it gave me 2:16, do I simplify it?

I'm truly sorry that you feel the way you do. I have never meant any disrespect to you or any other tutors on this site. I certainly don't consider my attempt to add additional information to your answers to be any form of harassment, and it seems inappropriate that you would "notify the management of Wyzant". But if that is what you feel is the best way to handle such a situation, so be it. I'm happy that you will continue to answer questions the way you currently do (nothing wrong with that), but I will reserve the "right" to add additional information, or to even disagree (respectfully) with you. After all, isn't that part of the essence of scientific investigation?

John, I can't answer that without knowing a little more information. What kind of lab experiment?
