To find the slope and y intercept, you can manipulate the equation so it is in the form y=mx+b, where m is the slope and b is the y intercept.
7x+4y=5 Subtract 7x from both sides
7x+4y-7x=5-7x
4y=-7x+5 Divide both sides by 4
4y/4=-7x/4+5/4 Simplify
y=-7/4x+5/4
slope = -7/4
y intercept = 5/4
