y = x is just the diagonal red line. When graphing this, you pick a value for x, let's pick 2. Then the y value is the same as the x value because y = x, so y is 2, So a point on the line y = x is (2, 2). Another point is (3, 3), another is (4, 4), etc.
The slope of the line is 1 because slope is the amount the line goes up divided by the amount the line goes over (or rise/run). For every 1 unit the line goes up, it goes over 1 unit so slope = 1/1 = 1
When x = 5, y = 5. When x = 0, y = 0. When x = -2, y = -2
