ac equals 3x + 3, ab equals 2x - 1, bc equals 11. solve for x and find the length of each segment

If these line segments are all in a straight line, the answer is:

ab+bc=ac

(2x-1)+11=3x+3

2x+10=3x+3. subtract 2x from both sides

10=x+3. subtract 3 from both sides

7=x or

x=7
