The vertex of an angle is the point where the two rays forming the angle come together. Angles are ALWAYS named by the vertex or by points on each ray and the vertex, with the vertex the point in the middle of the three points.
So if you have angles that are numbered and the points of intersection of rays and lines have letters, then the letter that corresponds to the point of intersection that is labeled "5" would the the vertex. If the angles ONLY have numbers, then the vertex is the number for the angle.
