If you drew a number line and put point E on 4, then G can either be 10 units behind or away from pt E.
--------*------------4--------------*------------
G1 E G2
In both cases, the distance between points E and G are 10 units. Thus, one possible point for G is at -6 (4 - (-6) = 10)
Whereas, another possible point for G is at 14 (since 14 - 4 = 10)
Hope this helps

G could be at either 14 or at -6.
