Emily plans to roll a standard six-sided die 3 times and record the result after each roll. 

What is the probability that she rolls an odd number for all 3 rolls?

So half of the numbers on a standard die are odd numbers: 1, 3, and 5. So there is a fifty-fifty chance of rolling an odd number. That is, the probabilify of rolling an odd number is 3/6, or 1/2 in reduced form. And since the 3 rolls are independent events, with the same probability, the probabilify of getting an odd number on all 3 rolls is 1/2 * 1/2 * 1/2, or 1/8.
