Shift your energy from "worrying about pitfalls" to "I'm gonna nail it!" - AND - YOU WILL NAIL IT!
Here are some steps:
- Before the speech, take some deep breaths and try to calm down yourself. Don't think too much at this point, do it like a meditation.
- Run through your speech structure in your mind a few more times, just the structure, at this point, no need to go word by word anymore, as you should have practiced it.
- Shift your "nervous" energy to "excitement". Get yourself excited of giving a speech, this can help you to pump up yourself before the speech.
- If you could find a quiet place by yourself (outside or in a car), shout out a few words to open your throat, this can reduce your "nervous level" again, and help you to get excited.
At this point, you should feel more confident and ready to present your speech.
Hope this can help!
