How much is a good framerate for slo-mo recording?

As per the title, how much **fps count** should I be considering on a camera if I am looking to do slo-mo shots **without framerate lag** taking effect on video settings?On a side note, I don't know if this is counted as Photography or videography. I'm looking at **digital cameras** that have a good video framerate, though.

Usually, slow-mo should be recorded with double the FPS count of your normal FPS count. So if your video is at 30 FPS you should record your slow-mo shot with 60 FPS. Keep in mind that this is the baseline. It is completely fine if you want to go slower! Just make sure the FPS ratio is kept.

Consider at least 60 fps on a camera if you wanna do slow-motion shots. That's a 2.5x slower speed when ramped down in post if you've shot something generally in 24 fps.

A lot of mirrorless digital cameras might have 60fps-120fps frame rate options that are within an affordable amateur price range. Remember, it depends on what the general frame rate is of your project that will help determine a good frame rate to shoot for slow motion. If your project is 24fps in general, consider shooting a frame rate that's at least twice that amount, like 48fps. 60fps is my best suggestion, though.
