On some universities’ web pages, like Oxford university, they write:> Computer Science, Department ofFor me it is more intuitive to say:> Department of Computer ScienceCan somebody explain why a preference is given?

I'm not sure what the context of this is, perhaps a resume or CV? In any case, "Department of Computer Science" and "Computer Science Department" are both preferred over "Computer Science, Department of" simply due to the awkwardness of that construction. Always opt for a more natural sounding phrase in cases like these.
