The Width is 16 ft

We can use the formula for the Perimeter of a Rectangle to find sides below

Perimeter = 2(Width) + 2(Length) = 2W + 2L

P = 2W + 2L

L = W + 2

68 = 2W + 2(W + 2)

68 = 2W + 2W + 4

combine like terms

68 = 4W + 4

Subtract 4 from both sides of the equation

68 - 4 = 4W

64 = 4W

Divide both sides of the equation by 4

64/4 =W

16 = W

L = W + 2 = 16 + 2 = 18

You can check by plugging the values into the Perimeter formula

68 = 2(16) + 2(18)

68 = 32 + 36

68 = 68
