Regardless of topic, the best presentations all consider the audience (your class) before the actual material. List all the things that interest your students even if they have no direct relation to the topic: sport, social media, friendships etc. Then take your material and work out similarities / differences between their interests/their daily life/their personal experiences and what info you need to convey. Use as many examples, and tell as many "stories" as possible to illustrate and illuminate. If you put the student first and reach them in their world, you will have their attention.
