Not a mantra, but a "Victory List" might do the trick.
Write down a list of your personal and professional victories that you've accomplished over the years. Things that you are proud of doing. Things that were really hard, but you still did them. Talk to yourself about those victories in details.
When you are traveling to the speaking engagement and start to feel those butterflies pull out that list and remember all the things you've done. When you're standing on stage keep reviewing that victory list in your mind. Remember the time you made the basketball team. Or the time you aced that impossible quiz when no one else could. Or the time you really impressed that professor, or your boss...or that special someone.
Remembering that you've done hard things and been victorious will boost your confidence and give you the courage to step up to the mic and show the world that you've got this!
