I think you don't realize how much other work goes into being a successful motivational speaker. The "nothing else" you refer to includes:
- social media marketing
- in person marketing events
- website marketing
- event organization including locating venue, contracting additional vendors who are at the venue, food, ticketing, etc.
- watching culture trends to see what topics people need / want motivation in
- creating motivational content that fulfills that need
- audience building so they have someone to speak to
- often incorporates other avenues of monetization like writing & publishing books, blog posts, guest columns
- selling tickets - no one is gonna buy tickets for a motivational speaker if that speaker isn't doing a heck of a lot of work to get them there
I applaud motivational speakers who are making a living doing what they love, uplifting and inspiring other folks and helping them feel happy. I applaud their ability to share words that can inspire listeners AND their ability to make a business out of doing so, with all that comes along with running a business, when the speaking part is the part they love. ✨💖🌈☀️🌞🙏🏽👍🏽✨
Cheers,
