A good way to prevent people from looking at their cell phones in the middle of your presentation is to make your presentation as interesting as whatever it is they are looking at through their mobile phones. That includes tailoring your communication to your audience. Depending on who it is that you are presenting to you can change your approach and add more activities that involve participation to hold people’s attention. Making presentations more interactive has always worked for me to make sure my audience is paying attention!
