any irrational number times 1/3 = an irrational number
Pi is irrational, so is pi/3
square root of 2 is irrational, so is 1/3 of the square root of 2
e is an irrational number, so is 1/3 of e or e/3
3pi is irrational, so is 3pi/3 or pi
An irrational number is any number than cannot be written as a ratio of one integer to another integer
A rational number is a number which can be written as a ratio of one integer to another.
Any rational number multiplied by 1/3 will still be rational, so only irrational numbers multiplied by 1/3 will be irrational. Any irrational number and only a irrational number will produce an irrational number when multiplied by 1/3.
