Atomic mass of krypton (Kr) = 83.798 g/mole
To find the volume of 30.0 g, we can use the ideal gas law: PV = nRT
P = pressure = 575 mm Hg (converted to atmospheres, we have 575 mm x 1 atm/760mm = 0.7566 atm)
V = volume = ?
n = moles = 30.0 g x 1 mole/83.798 g = 0.3580 moles
R = gas constant = 0.0821 L-atm/K-mole (note the units of L, which is why we converted mm Hg to atm)
T = temperature in K = 24ºC + 273 = 297K
PV = nRT
V = nRT/P = (0.3580 mol)(0.0821 L-atm/K-mol)(297K)/0.7566 atm
V = 11.538 L
Since they want the volume in mls, we convert 11.538 L x 1000 ml/L = 11538 mls = 11,500 mls (3 sig. figs.)
